50 Girlcrushes of 2013: Emily Bett Rickards
What happens when character who was supposed to be a minor featured player develops over a season into the most likeable female lead so much so that people on Tumblr reblog gifset featuring this character even though they don’t watch the show? First of all, WHOOPS … sucks for you if you were supposed to be the female lead of said show. And secondly, your name is probably Emily Bett Rickards and your charming character, Felicity Smoak, has ruined my life. Congratulations. Now in its second season, Arrow has developed into a thoroughly enjoyable show and even more enjoyable is the relationship that has developed between Oliver Queen and his gal Friday (don’t call her that though)/hacking genius. Felicity says the wrong thing at the wrong time and usually speaks before she thinks and we love her all the more for it. Over the first season, she has became a trusted ally and friend and Oliver’s superhero mission would be lost with her. Oliver sometimes wears the burden of his life a little too heavily and Felicity reminds him that he deserves more and he deserves better. Now, I would love it if Oliver finally starts to believe that and maybe decides to make a life with Felicity. My shipper heart … don’t give up the ship, indeed.
