You really do not want to know the noises I made when I saw this. How in the hell can two murderous, insane people be so fucking adorable? And yes, I know the height difference contributes to that.
And do you know why I ship Root and Shaw? Not because they’re currently the only women actively on this show, or because they’re two pretty, geek friendly women. Fuck no.
Because of everything contained within this single gif. Root delights in everything that Shaw is. Some of her first words were fucking fangirling over Shaw, and if you know anything about Root, it’s the fact that it takes a metric fucktonne to impress her. Even as a snotty 12 year old, she was not impressed over, well, anything. Imagine her as a 20/30 something, rather unparalleled at everything she does, brat. And Sameen Shaw fascinates the fuck out of her.
There’s some tasing, some torture (or heavy threats of) kidnapping, shooting, and other shenanigans. Not exactly first date material, I know, but these two aren’t conventional. At all. So, okay, getting tased on a blind date (and again on the second) isn’t ideal, but eh. As Shaw says, she likes this part.
But this! Shaw walks up to Root. She approaches her with her hands still in her pockets. Trust me, no matter who you are, having your hands stuffed into your pockets is a handicap. You can’t draw very quickly, or even extricate a hand to block any kind of attack. THEN, there’s the fact she willingly allows Root to put her hands on her. Root who hacks people just as well as she does systems. Root who manipulates the fuck out of everyone and everything she comes into contact with. Root, who KIDNAPPED AND HAS ELECTROCUTED HER ASS MULTIPLE TIMES.
I ship these two, because, how am I not supposed to? Please. Fucking tell me how I’m not supposed to ship this shit
On an aside: I swear to god, if they kill Root, I am going to burn the entire fucking place down. I CAN’T HANDLE THE DEATH OF ANOTHER AMAZING (if batshit crazy) FEMALE CHARACTER MADE OF AWESOME! Don’t fucking make me sing Adele.
